Dear Broken Blythe,
You just don’t get it, do you? You’re really okay. The sky is still blue but your twisted thoughts have turned it to gray in your mind. You aren’t broken directly from another person. You aren’t broken in just one way. It’s much more complex than that. Really, there is no fix because you don’t need one. Heartbreak has destroyed you, and I feel like I lost you in it.
So stop worrying about the little things. Put yourself first every time that you can because it really isn’t selfish. I know you know better. Get to work and work all the time. Sounds stressful, doesn’t it? Well, it shouldn’t be because truly, what’s the point to work on something you don’t want or need to do. There’s always things to do and ways to distract you from heartbreak. Don’t mend your heart— mend your mind.
Sincerely, Riley

I thought this was amazing! You are such a talented writer and have such wisdom. The way you phrased your advise were perfect ideas to “mend your mind”. Great post!!!

Really nice job Riley! Your vocabulary was very intellectual and colorful. I also like your repetition and alliteration in the end when you said “Don’t mend your heart-mend your mind.” Great job!!
