One of my favorite musicals is Les Misérables. We watched Les Misérables in Theatre II, and we studied it. I have enjoyed it so much. The story line is amazing. On top of that, it is powerful. Every time the bell rang, I left class with a pang of catharsis. I wasn’t ready to go to Biology afterwards, and there was always a great suspense that stuck in the back of my head.
Overall, this musical was brilliant. The music was sang live, and it still sounded beautiful. The characters were also put together well. Also, I almost cried, and I never cry during movies. I don’t want to give any spoilers, but the ending was my favorite scene. When characters die, the scenes are all so different. When a good character dies, they seem at ease, yet when a bad character dies the death seems abrupt. This provides perfect foreshadowing to the ending.

I have always wanted to see Les Miserables! Great connection to a study in school! I might have problems based on your description, though. Nice blog post!
