In the novel, Girl Online by Zoe Sugg, the quester is a teen from the U.K.  The place to go is New York. The stated reason to go there was Penny’s parents are wedding planers, and they received an offer to plan a wedding in New York at short notice. The first main challenge is Penny suffers from panic attacks. This causes her to mainly struggle when on the plane or in the car. She is also challenged by her panic attacks when drama occurs online. The real reason to go was for Penny to fall in love with the guy she meets in New York.

Quests are prevalent in story telling because they provide a plot. When a plot is provided, more focus is put into setting and characterization. Also, it is classic for a story to include a character who goes somewhere to do something, but the character ultimately does something else. Quests make stories more interesting and mysterious too. Depending on the story, the quest is influenced by the tone and mood of a story. For example a quest for love would probably occur in a sweet story while a quest for a long lost artifact would probably occur in an action-packed story. Overall, quests just add to a story by means of basic plot.
